Khia‘s “My Neck My Back (Lick It)” really is the gift that keeps on giving. The most notorious song of the 21st century may have just celebrated its 10th anniversary last month, but it’s still got a lot of life left in it yet.
The Hip-Hop classic has been revived thanks to Def Jam rapper YG, who features a prominent sample of the X-rated smash in his latest song “Pop It”.
The DJ Mustard-produced cut has yet to get the single treatment, but it has all the makings of a club-anthem-turned-urban-crossover-smash. “Pop It” has one of the sickest Hip-Hop beats I’ve heard all year and YG really throws down like a pro, but it doesn’t take a genius to know that the real magic of “Pop It” is all in the Khia sample.
